Science on the Go is a University of Illinois Extension mobile science laboratory program.

Illinois School had the good fortune to have the mobile science laboratory visit their school for two weeks. The facility is a big bus that has been outfitted as a classroom. It has workstations for 11 students (with wheelchair lift and access to 2 workstations), a wireless computer network, satellite internet access service, an internal public address system, thermostat controlled heating and air conditioning and microscopes, temperature probes and other laboratory equipment.

It also comes equipped with extraordinarily dedicated teachers in the fields of science and mathematics. For more information, go to

Here are some pictures from the Illinois School visit:
On this day, Dr. Oyewole Ajifolokun worked with eighth graders, who disected rats and learned about interior body systems.

On another day Dr. Van Horn taught a group of eighth graders about black holes. Note the wall behind Dr. Van Horn is a dry marker board and also displays information from his computer.
